Paul wrote to Timothy, "My boy,
To see you would fill me with joy.

It isn't fear that fills your soul,
But power, love, and self-control.

Though you might suffer, preach away.
He called us, guards us, for that day.

You're in Christ's army now for good,
So suffer evil as he would.

With Christ we died, with him we live.
Endure and us a crown he'll give.

Deny him, he'll deny us back.
But faithfulness he'll never lack.

Don't argue over minor things.
Confusing harm is all that brings.

Shun godless talk or you will find
That godlessness infects your mind.

So cleanse yourself in order to
Be ready when God calls on you.

When opposition is expressed
You must respond with gentleness.

Know peril comes in final days
With proud and unforgiving ways.

When men will hate and lie and boast
And people love themselves the most.

No self-control and won't give thanks.
They won't trust God, but trust in banks.

Abusive, brutal, loveless frauds.
These men choose pleasure over God.

False piety denies God's sway,
So from such people, get away.

The truly pious Christ embrace
And persecutions we will face.

All Scripture can prepare us for
The work God has for us in store.

So preach the Word, or they will steer
Themselves to what they want to hear.

My time in this world winding down,
The Lord reward me with a Crown."
