With faith in God, whose word does light us,
Paul sent a message off to Titus.

Peace be upon you as you search
For blameless men to lead the church.

Men patient, friendly, self-controlled.
Steadfastly to the Word they hold.

For they must teach and clarify,
Rebuking those espousing lies.

Teach temperance, a creed correct,
Be sober, worthy of respect.

Be sound in faith, in love, endure,
Don't slander but be kind and pure.

Teach reverance and to take good care.
That what they've learned they then should share.

In everything do what is good.
Speak soundly so you're understood.

Don't steal from those you're subject to,
But please them to show what is true.

Important that you live this way.
Give others nothing bad to say.

To all of us God gives the grace
To be controlled in all we face.

He purified us, grace not earned,
And now we wait for his return.

Remind the people: heed the law.
Don't focus on another's flaw.

Do good and show humility.
Be gentle with tranquility.

Once we were disobedient,
Were worldly and expedient,

Took crooked paths instead of straight,
We lived in malice, envy, hate.

But when by love our Savior came
He gave us a new life to claim.

Avoid divisiveness, wrote Paul.
May God's good grace be with you all.
