To those on whom the Spirit’s poured1P 1:2
Wrote Peter, servant of the Lord:1P 1:1
Praise God who granted us new life, 1P 1:3
Far greater than our present strife.1P 1:6
Your faith leads to elation pure,1P 1:8
Delivering salvation sure. 1P 1:9
So don’t return to sinful ways,1P 1:14
but dwell on grace throughout your days1P 1:13
Be holy, following God’s lead.1P 1:15-16
From emptiness you have been freed. 1P 1:18-19
May purity set you apart1P 1:22
Now love, and love with all your heart.
Reborn, we now are God’s own spore, 1P 1:23
Whose word endures forevermore. 1P 1:25
Therefore you must eliminate1P 2:1
All lies and slander, envy, hate.
Be nourished by the word of God1P 2:3
and join the royal, priestly squad, 1P 2:5
Who shine the light, who make it known: 1P 2:9
God laid a precious cornerstone.1P 2:6
Exemplifying how to live:1P 2:21-24
When you are wronged, like him, forgive. 1P 2:15-20
As strangers in this world we’re in, 1P 2:11
Be known for good deeds, not for sin. 1P 2:12
In all positions heed God's call.1P 3:1-12
Respect the Lord and honor all. 1P 2:17
Defend the faith by saying why1P 3:15
you serve the Christ the Lord on high.
To chase the flesh is to be dead. 1P 4:1-5
Pursue the godly life instead. 1P 4:6
The end is near. Be ready, pray. 1P 4:7
Love everyone who comes your way. 1P 4:8-9
Whatever gift you have received, 1P 4:10
Through you, may God’s will be achieved. 1P 4:11
Remember now, hard times will come. 1P 4:12
Much glory, though, to suffer some. 1P 4:13-14
