Before creation was the Word,Jn 1:1-2
and through him light and life occurred.Jn 1:3-4
Before the world, the light was there. Jn 1:10
But many people didn’t care. Jn 1:11
To save us he became a man.Jn 1:14
Those who believe can join the fam. Jn 1:12-13
The Father sent a man named John, Jn 1:6
who saw the Spirit rest uponJn 1:32-34
One greater, who has always been:Jn 1:15
The Lamb of God, who conquers sin. Jn 1:29
Disciples joined the Christ divine.Jn 1:35-51
He turned the water into wine. Jn 2:1-11
Brought temple merchants their demise.Jn 2:12-17
Predicted he’d be killed and rise. Jn 2:18-22
Be born of Spirit, from above. Jn 3:3-6
God sacrificed his son for love. Jn 3:16-17
We’re judged for doing what’s not right,Jn 3:19-20
But cleared if we come to the light. Jn 3:18,21
Then John said as he neared his end: Jn 3:22-26
“He is the Christ, I’m just a friend.” Jn 3:27-30
He offered living water free. Jn 4:10-15
Said food was doing God’s decree. Jn 4:31-38
He healed a boy from miles away, Jn 4:46-54
and healed a man on Saturday. Jn 5:1-18
He’s self-existent, Jesus is. Jn 5:19-26
Authority to judge is his. Jn 5:27-30
It’s by the Father he was sent, Jn 5:31-38
Foretold in the Old Testament. Jn 5:39-47
Two fish and bread he did transform. Jn 6:1-15
Then walked on water in a storm. Jn 6:16-25
Then Jesus said to eat his flesh, Jn 6:26-59
which thinned the crowds - the truth will thresh.Jn 6:60-71
He spoke up halfway through the feast.Jn 7:6-15
The crowds amazed, but not the priests. Jn 7:31-32
For glory’s meant for God alone, Jn 7:16-18
but some men want it for their own. Jn 7:18-30
From out of Jesus, water flows. Jn 7:37-39
Forgives, although your sin he knows. Jn 7:53-8:11
Again he said he was the light.Jn 8:12
The Father’s witness proves he’s right. Jn 8:13-30
Sin captures us in slavery. Jn 8:34-38
He taught the truth, which sets us free. Jn 8:31-32
They claimed: men die, like Abraham. Jn 8:52-57
“Before he was,” Christ said, “I Am.”Jn 8:58-59
He healed a beggar blind from birth,Jn 9:1-7
who testified, “He’s not from earth.” Jn 9:8-34
He’s the shepherd, we’re the sheep. Jn 10:11-16
He’s the gate no thief can leap. Jn 10:7-10
He said then, “God and I are one.Jn 10:22-30
I do his works. I am his Son.” Jn 10:32-38
Those who opposed him ranted, raved. Jn 10:19-21,24,31,39
Across the Jordan, more were saved. Jn 10:40-42
He paused, for our sakes, then arrivedJn 11:1-16
long after Lazarus had died. Jn 11:17
He called for Mary, up she leapt,Jn 11:18-31
Fell at his feet, then Jesus wept. Jn 11:32-35
Went to the tomb, then with a shout,Jn 11:38-42
He called to Lazarus, “Come out!” Jn 11:43-44
Though some took miracles as proof, Jn 11:45-46
the Pharisees went through the roof. Jn 11:47
So, desperate to hold on to pow’r,Jn 11:48-52
they planned to kill him from that hour. Jn 11:53-57
At dinner Mary poured perfume,Jn 12:1-4
in preparation for the tomb. Jn 12:7-11
Into Jerusalem he rode,Jn 12:12,14-16
As on him blessings were bestowed. Jn 12:13
His heart felt troubled, time had come.Jn 12:20-27
A voice came down to strengthen some. Jn 12:28-33
Be careful not to be like thoseJn 12:42-43
who, man’s praise over God’s, they chose.
To teach them love, he washed their feet. Jn 13:1-17
Gave his betrayer bread to eat. Jn 13:18-30
“So love, as you’re loved by the Son. Jn 13:34-35
Now where I’m going, you can’t come.”Jn 13:31-33
He said to Peter, who asked why,Jn 13:36-37
“Just knowing me you’ll soon deny.”Jn 13:38
“I’m going to prepare a place.Jn 14:1-4
You’ve seen the Father in my face.” Jn 14:7-14
“I am the life, the truth, the way. Jn 14:6
Keep my commands, and in me stay.”Jn 15:9-10
“You are the branches, I’m the vine. Jn 15:3-8
The garden’s God’s. What’s his is mine.” Jn 15:1-2, 16:15
“Though soon I leave, I will be back. Jn 16:16
You’ll have the Spirit and nothing lack.” Jn 16:13-14
“So love each other and have peace.Jn 15:12-17,27-31
The joy you get will never cease.” Jn 16:22
He gave us life, said what that meant: Jn 17:1-3
Just knowing God and whom he sent.
He prayed for us, the gloried Son, Jn 17:6-26
that we’d be holy, safe, and one.
So knowing where they’d be that night, Jn 18:1-2
then Judas came prepared to fight. Jn 18:3
The soldiers fell down to the ground,Jn 18:4-10
But Jesus let himself be bound. Jn 18:11-14
Poor Pete, before the cock could crow, Jn 18:15-18,25-27
Asked if he followed Christ, said “No”.
Then mocked and beaten without ruth,Jn 18:19-24, 19:1
Christ said, “I only speak the truth”. Jn 18:33-38
Shown Jesus in a thorny ring, Jn 19:1-3
they shouted, “Caesar is our king”. Jn 19:4-15
He spoke while being crucified. Jn 19:25-27
Said “It is finished,” then he died. Jn 19:30
All life to prophesy adheres: Jn 19:24
- they took his clothes as souvenirsJn 19:23
- gave vinegar when his lips driedJn 19:28-29
- they broke no bones, but pierced his side Jn 19:31-37
With aloe, myrrh, and linen clothes, Jn 19:38-40
entombed he lie in death’s repose. Jn 19:41-42
Then Sunday, it was not yet dawn, Jn 20:1
when Mary found his body gone.
So Peter ran, as Mary grieved. Jn 20:2-6
Then John went in, and he believed. Jn 20:7-10
His corpse she wanted to reclaim, Jn 20:11-15
till Jesus called her by her name. Jn 20:16
To the disciples he appearedJn 20:17-23
three times as his departure neared. Jn 21:1-14
“We’ve seen the Lord!”, their joyous shout.Jn 20:24-25
But Thomas still was filled with doubt,
Until he touched his hands and side.Jn 20:26-27
“My Lord, my God!” he then replied. Jn 20:28-31
Christ said to Peter, “Feed my lambs. Jn 21:15-19
Don’t worry ‘bout my other plans.”Jn 21:20-24
If all his actions were unfurled,Jn 21:25
to write it down would fill the world.
